Introduction

Someone has hidden a time bomb and it's your job to find it and deactivate it! It takes quick and steady hands to succeed. Use your assortment of tools to carefully remove the bomb's outer shell, determine the appropriate wires to cut, and then cut them before the timer runs out.

This game can be played in two different ways - as a single player race or as a multiplayer stealthy cloak and dagger adventure.

In single player mode, race to deactivate the time bomb in the shortest possible time. The top ten times are saved to a high score list. Challenge your friends to beat your best time! Use the custom bomb creation tool to adjust any of the bomb's settings: bomb tick sound, timer duration, difficulty in removing the screws, the number of wires, how many wires need to be cut, motion sensitivity, and accuracy. Best times are recorded for each custom bomb mode you make.

In multiplayer mode, get together with some friends and have one team hide the bomb. Then, the challenge is for the bomb squad team to locate the bomb and deactivate it before the timer expires. Take turns hiding the bomb and see which team has the best time. The bomb does not make an audible ticking noise until the final minute of the timer. This way someone can not find the bomb purely by listening for it. For an added challenge, turn on the motion sensitivity for the bomb. The search team will have to be extra careful when trying to locate and deactivate it.

The Tools

Tap the large ? to select your first tool. Repeated tapping on the tool will select the next tool. Once a tool is selected, your finger taps on other parts of the screen will function as that tool.

The Screwdriver: Use the screwdriver to remove the screws. Tap a screw and then make small circles to unscrew it. Turn counter-clockwise. If you turn clockwise you will tighten the screw. The number of rotations required to remove a screw depends on the length of the screw. After you have removed all the screws, carefully double-tap on the access panel to remove it.

The Probe:Use the probe to listen to the wires. Wires that need to be cut will make a buzzing sound. If you do not have sound enabled, you can also observe the tool - its tip will flash red when it is over a wire to cut. NOTE: Be careful where you tap! Some bombs are more sensitive than others and will explode if you tap and miss a wire. Accuracy counts!

Wire Cutters: Use the wire cutters to cut the wires to deactivate the bomb. Don't just cut any wire! Only cut the correct wires. Use the probe first unless you are running out of time - then just make a guess! NOTE: some bombs require more than one wire to be cut.

Custom Bombs

Use the Time Bomb Assembly Line tool to create a custom challenge. Every aspect of the bomb is configurable:
  • Choose the duration of the timer.
  • Adjust the sound - choose either beeping or ticking
  • Accuracy counts? Is the bomb circuit board sensitive to accidental taps when trying to tap on a wire? NOTE:this can make the game a lot more challenging.
  • Motion Sensor: will the bomb go off if you are too rough in your handling of it?
  • Choose how many wires there are (1-8). Colors will be randomly selected each time you play the game.
  • Choose how many wires need to be cut to disarm the bomb. The specific wires are randomly assigned each game.
  • Screw Depth: how many rotations will it take to unscrew each screw?

    • Mail Bombing Your Friends

    When viewing the high scores, you can swipe your finger left or right to view high scores for other game modes you've already played. You can also email any selected high score to a friend. If they also have a copy of the Time Bomb app, when they receive your email they can tap on a link that will automatically launch the Time Bomb game, insert your high score into their game, and start the bomb that was included. (This assumes they are using their iPhone or iPod Touch to read the email.)

    This makes it very easy to share scores with your friends and challenge them to beat your best time.

    The game also includes support for OpenFeint, so you can also send your times as an OpenFeint challenge to other friends.

    Game Notes

    When you start a new game, there will be a 3 second delay before the timer starts and before you can select a tool. This gives you a chance to get prepared to begin play or to pass the bomb on to a friend to try your custom bomb challenge.

    You can pause the game at any time by tapping on the timer.

    ** Please note ** We are aware that the tool selection window on the bomb screen does take away from the realistic "bomb" look of the app. This was intentional.
